The miracle of honey
Honey is composed by sugars, like glucose and fructosy, and by minerals, like magnesium, potasium, calcium, sulfur chlorine, iron and phosphate. It includes B1, B2, C, B5 and B3 vitamins. Every honey is different according to its nectar and pollen quality. Besides, it also includes a few amounts of copper, iodine and zinc. Several types of hormones are present too.
Nowadays apiculture and bees products have opened new branches of investigation in countries where advanced studies are being practised. We are going to describe the following benefits of honey:
It makes easy the digestion. Since the sugar molecules of honey can become into other sugars (for example, fructosy and glucose), honey is easily digested even by the most sensitive stomaches, despite of its high content of acid. It helps the intestines and kidneys to work better.
It has a low caloric level. Another quality of honey is that, compared with the same quantity of sugar (beet´s or cane´s), it gives to the body 40% of less calories. Although it provides people with plenty of energy, they will not increase their weight at all.
It is quickly diffused through blood. In addition to moderate water, honey is diffused through blood flow in seven minutes. Its sugar molecules make brain to work better, since this last one is a great consumer of sugar.
It helps to blood production. Honey provides an important part of the energy that body needs to produce blood. Besides, it helps to depurate it. It has some positive effects over the regulation of blood circulation. It also works as a protector against hair problems and arteriosclerosis.
It is not propitious for bacteriums. The bactericid property of honey is called "inhibiting effect". Some experiments teach that this property increases twice when being diluted with water. It is very interesting to be concerned that recently-born bees in colonies are fed with diluted honey by those bees in charge of their supervision, just as if they knew this honey characteristic.
It is obviuos that honey production, with a much bigger quantity than requested by bees, is something that really benefits human being. And it is also obviuos that bees can not carry out such an incredible task -honey production and its derived- by their own "initiative".
